Sarvam Code touches your repositories, so how it handles your code is a design constraint, not an afterthought. Here is exactly what runs where, and what leaves your machine.
The agent runs locally as a single binary, under your user account, and works on the repositories you point it at. There is no background service watching your filesystem and nothing installed that you did not run yourself.
In local-only mode your code never leaves your environment. When a task uses a hosted model, that call is opt-in and clearly indicated before it runs, and only the prompt the task needs is sent to the model provider over an encrypted connection. We do not store your source code on our servers, and prompts are never used to train models.
Runs on your machine
Sarvam Code is a single binary that executes locally. It reads and edits files in the repositories you point it at, under your user account, with no background daemon.
You stay at the gateway
Every change is diffed and gated for your review before it touches a file, and commands are surfaced before they run. The agent acts; you stay the operator.
Opt-in cloud calls
In local-only mode your code never leaves your environment. When a task uses a hosted model, the call is opt-in and clearly indicated, and only the prompt that task needs is sent over TLS.
No code retention
We don't store your source code on our servers, and prompts are never used to train models. Account and billing data is the only thing we keep.
Telemetry you control
There's no telemetry you didn't ask for. Any usage reporting is documented and can be turned off; the defaults favour your privacy.
Your data, your call
Export or delete your account data on request. We operate under India's DPDP Act and honour GDPR and CCPA rights. Email us and we'll action it.
